Landscape Ecology & Management
As specialist consulting landscape ecologists we
offer expertise in a broad range of habitats and species found in
terrestrial and aquatic environments throughout Scotland.
Committed to meeting the highest professional and technical standards,
we offer a range of effective and efficient solutions to ease the burden
of compliance for developers and industry in relation to environmental
legislation and regulations.
Tailoring all services to individual
client requirements, we approach each commission on a first principles
basis and work closely with a small team of associated consultants to
offer project specific specialist teams where required. This
flexible structure enables us to considerably reduce overheads, closely
manage and supervise projects and draw on external expertise to offer
additional specialists &/or capacity as necessary.
Offering a 'one-stop-shop' approach to
environmental planning and management, we offer services on the
following themes;
-
ecological
habitat & species surveys
-
tree surveys in relation to development
BS5837(2005)
-
analysis and evaluation of data
-
ecological chapters of Environmental Impact
Assessments (EcIA)
-
public/community consultation
-
digital GIS mapping
-
landscape, ecological scheme & SUDS design and planning
-

protected species
-

-
long-term monitoring and management
We also offer comprehensive land
survey, design and management services and use our expertise to help organisations with ecological elements of strategic
planning, performing regulatory functions and providing evaluated proofs
of evidence.
Through our unique
Scottish native origin
plant nursery we are able to offer added ecological value by arranging
project specific collection and propagation of local origin native
plants at an early stage. Incorporating such considerations
at an early design stage will save costs during implementation phases
and reduce environmentally related conflicts .

Business & Biodiversity
We offer practical advice and assistance to businesses
looking to improve their site and/or practices to benefit biodiversity.
Businesses can benefit greatly from taking action to engage in
biodiversity conservation at both local and national levels.
Whether through amendments to existing Environmental Management Systems
(EMS) or developing a Site Biodiversity Action Plan (SBAP), we can
provide tailored recommendations for improvements or changes to increase
benefits to biodiversity. We work strictly to individual
organisations' objectives and resources and can develop Biodiversity
Action Plans at small local to larger national scales incorporating all
premises and activities.
Benefits to business range from developing an improved
green image to satisfy market demands or local authority requirements,
cost savings from improved site and raw material management to publicity
from community &/or partnership development, contributing towards EMS
accreditation and delivery of corporate social responsibility.
Each business is reliant on the environment whether
this be as a source for raw materials or as a backdrop for a tourist
destination. The environmental credentials of a business' premises
&/or activities can contribute greatly towards image and marketability.
Contributing positively to biodiversity conservation, whether in-house
or helping others to achieve similar aims, can ultimately increase
productivity through an improved working environment, a happier and
healthier workforce and increased interest from today's more environmentally
conscious investors.
GIS Digital Mapping Services
All of our services
are supported by in-house professional design and mapping services using the latest
GIS/GPS/CAD technologies.
Utilising these technologies enables us to produce high
quality maps and designs to support management plans, grant applications,
planning & development designs and Ecological Impact Assessment statements
to a high degree of accuracy.

Our Mapping and Design service is also available on a mapping only basis.
